LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Orient Point has 350 degrees of fishing access- Peconic Bay, Gardiner’s Bay, Long Island Sound, Block Island Sound, including Plum Gut, The Sluiceway and the Race are probably the most diverse bodies of water in a 10 mile radius with Orient right in the center. Our local waters hold some impressive bodies of fish normally found much further away. Another often overlooked advantage that only can be appreciated from the Skippers standpoint, is that if the conditions are not favorable in one location because the wind is howling and the sea is rough there is always an option in the lee side of one island or another. This option can make or break your day. Many early morning phone calls have been received when customers are at the dock of another port and that skipper has declared the day a total loss due to bad weather. At this point we steer those serious anglers to Orient to get a day’s worth of fishing in on their cherished day off. Don‘t let a little off weather keep you at home. Make the Prime Time your first choice because WE’RE GOING! The Prime Time III is the largest boat in Orient with a wide beam and very stable feel. Lower railing allows greater comfort which makes landing the big one much easier due to shorter landing nets and gaffs. (Have you ever raised that fish of a lifetime just to watch the mate knock it off 15 feet from the boat!) The captain and crew work as a team, the main benefit here is that your captain is on deck helping you land fish, and keeps you on productive bottom. Pull right up close to the boat to load your gear, then park in the conveniently designated areas. Some handicap parking is available and arrangements can be made for the disabled. Getting to us is a little more drive time, but you will soon realize what you have been missing once you put a day in.
